An American Late Classical Mahogany and "Églomisé" Eight-Day Shelf Clock of New Orleans Interest, mid-19th c., by E. N. Welch, Forestville, CT, ogee molded case with a bipartite door, the lower glazed pane decorated with a hand-painted and printed scene of the "New Opera-House New Orleans", depicting the historic French Opera house which burned in 1919, the dial painted with Roman numerals and floral-decorated spandrels, with original movement, crank key and two weights, height 26 in., width 15 1/2 in., depth 4 1/2 in.
