An American Late Federal Carved Mahogany Tall Post Canopy Bed, c. 1800-1815, attributed to Moses Mellon, Boston, having a flat tester, with turned tapered posts at the head, the headboard with scrolled crest, conforming rails and footposts with tapering rope turnings, acanthus carved star punched center, rope turned and blocked below, ending in turned tapered legs, height 84 in., width 51 in., length 69 in.
