An American Louis XVI Revival Ebonized Cherry, Gilt Bronze Mounted and Gilt Incised Center Table, late 19th c., New York the rectangular and d-ended inset white marble top on trumpet supports, joined by an H-stretcher with anthemion carving, bun feet, brass casters, height 31 in., width 41 1/2 in., depth 25 1/2 in. E4000-6000 Note: Following the fashion for ebonized examples in the late 18th c. taste from Napoleon III France, New York cabinet makers such as Herter Brothers, Kimbel and Cabus, and most notably Leon Marcotte produced Louis XVI forms with Renaissance Revival alterations such as that seen in lot 473.
