An American Louis XVI-Style Giltwood and Bronze-Mounted Fern Stand, late 19th c., New York, the inset onyx top within a stepped foliate bronze border, the frieze with Rococo bronze mounts, reeded and leaf carved standards with bronze strapwork ribbons, the plinth base raised on paw feet, stamped "5270" on base and inscribed in pencil on bottom of onyx, height 41 1/2 in., width 14 in., depth 14 in. Provenance: Lockwood Mathews Mansion, Norwood, Connecticut (by repute).
