An American Porcelain Tea and Coffee Service, 1826-1838, by Tucker of Philadelphia, including: covered coffee pot, covered teapot, covered sugar bowl, creamer, 10 cups and saucers, 10 small cake plates, 1 serving dish, all in Spider pattern with gilt banding and original gilt monogram 'CC', unmarked, except for red underglaze number '201' on dish, coffee pot height 8.25in., dish diameter 8.25in E1000-1500 Note: A virtually identical Tucker sugar-bowl, with Spider-pattern gilt decoration, is in the State Museum of Pennsylvania (Acc No 65. 134.5), while almost identical cups and saucers are in the Metropolitan Museum of Art (Acc No 63.88.1 7.10 18): see A.C Frelinghuysen, American Porcelain 1770-1920, New York, 1989, pp 83-85 15.
