An American Renaissance Carved and Burl Walnut Bedroom Suite, mid-19th c., attributed to John Jelliff, Newark, New Jersey, comprising a bedstead, a "Princess" dresser, and commode; the crest surmounted by a cherub figure on a pediment with foliate scrolls, arched headboard with figural brackets, urn finials and burl panels, the rails with carved brackets and burl panels centered by a concentric boss; the conforming footboard with bowed stiles and panels, bedstead height 102 1/2 in., length 78 1/2 in., width 57 in.; commode height 30 1/2 in., width 24 in., depth 19 1/2 in.; "Princess" dresser height 102 in., width 61 in., depth 24 3/4 in.
- Notes: Note: The bedstead in this lot is identical in ornament to a carved mahogany bed from the Geraghty family of Chicago now conserved by the Chicago Historical Society.
