An American Renaissance Gilt Bronze-Mounted, Carved Rosewood and Gilt Incised Armchair, late 19th c., attributed to Gustave Herter, New York, the arched incised back with bronze mask mount, padded acanthus carved scrolled arms, paneled rounded seat rail, centered by a bronze floral rosette, the trumpet shaped fluted and incised legs topped by bronze rosettes, casters, retaining the original surface, height 46 in.

  • Notes: Note: This armchair displays elements nearly identical to those on a rosewood side chair attributed to Herter Brothers in the Morse-Libby House of Portland Maine.
