An American Renaissance Vigorously Carved Walnut Figural Hall Stand, mid-19th c., possibly Mitchell & Rammelsberg, Cincinnati, Ohio, the arched mirror with naturallistically carved frame crested with stag's head, serpentine marble top with two wells on cabriole supports and serpentine apron centered by a roundel, all on bun feet with casters, height 105 in., width 53 in., depth 18 in. E18000-25000 Provenance: Descended in the family of Col. Edmund Hayes Taylor, Jr., "Thistleton" near Frankfort, KY. Note: The sturdy, naturalistic carving comprising the mirror frame and the Renaissance inspired details on lower stand are similar to those in known Mitchell and Rammelsberg examples.
