An American Rococo Carved Mahogany Full Tester Bed, c. 1840-1850, probably New Orleans, flared ogee molded tester, clustered posts blocked at base, scrolled paneled headboard with bosses and large disc cartouche, scalloped rails, height 112 in., inside length 76 in., inside width 69 1/2 in. Provenance: Inglewood Plantation, Natchez, Mississippi. Inglewood was built c. 1830 by Dr. Gustavus Calhoun and restored in the mid-20th c. by Dr. Wallace Smith
