Description:

An American Rococo Carved Rosewood Games Table, mid-19th c., possibly Alexander Roux, New York, serpentine foldover top with gadrooned edge, shaped apron, opposing "C" scroll legs, height 29 7/8 in., width 32 5/8 in., depth 17 1/2 in.

  • Notes: Note: The gadrooned top and opposing "C" scroll legs with tight scroll terminals on this table are similar to those on a walnut center table from the library of Nevada Governor Jewett William Adams sold in these rooms as lot 286 on February 3, 2007. The legs also recall those on a rosewood library table attributed to Roux and illustrated in Dubrow. American Furniture of the 19th c., 1840-1880, p. 134.
