An American Rococo Carved Rosewood Marble Top Center Table, c. 1850- 60, New York, attributed to John Henry Belter, having a molded serpentine marble top above scroll ornamented frieze, on cabriole legs joined by distinctive arched stretchers centering a reeded urn finial, height 29in., width 43in., depth 33in. E7000-9000 10000 Note: This table relates clearly to the category of extant center tables by J.H. Belter commonly referred to as "Rosalie". Richard and Eileen Dubrow illustrate on page 134 of American Furniture of the 19th Century a Rosalie center table with a nearly identically carved frieze, differing only in the small carved flowers on either side of the centered foliate scrolls.
