An American Rococo Rosewood-Grained Dressing Bureau, mid-19th c., attributed to Mitchell and Rammelsberg, Cincinnati, OH, molded brokenarch pediment, cabochon carved and scroll pierced crest, arched mirror, serpentine base with "twig" carved drawer pulls, height 90 in. width 46 in. E2500/3500 Note: The heavy pediment, tall back and serpentine plinth base as seen here are distinctive characteristics usually found in furniture by the Cincinnati firm of Mitchell and Rammelsberg. A related example which descended through the Trusdell family with original bill of sale is illustrated as number 146 in 19thCentury America, Furniture and Other Decorative Arts, exhibition catalogue of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
