Description:

An American Rosewood, Gilt-Stenciled, Verde Antico and Gilt-Decorated Pier Table, early 19th c., attributed to Cook and Parkins, Philadelphia, a marble top above a molded frieze, scrolled stenciled supports to the front with foliate-carved oval bosses, arched mirrored back, gadrooned plinth, foliate-carved bulbous feet, height 37 1/4 in., width 45 3/8 in., depth 20 1/8 in.

  • Notes: Note: The cabinet-making firm of Cook and Parkin produced exceptional furniture, most notably a pedestal sideboard after a design by Thomas Hope now in the Baltimore Museum of Fine Art.
