An Antique American Mourning Needlework, dedicated to "Matilda Newell, June 20th, 1836", depicting Christ raising Lazarus from the dead in front of a tomb surmounted by a classical urn, landscape setting, worked in wool on a silk ground mainly in satin stitch and French knots, gilt and black liner in original mahogany frame with elaborate gilt acanthus leaf corners, sight 17 in. x 20 in., framed 30 in. x 24 1/2 in.
