An Antique Chinese Jizhou-Style "Tortoiseshell" Glazed Porcelain Brush Pot, Qing Dynasty (1644-1912), of cylindrical form with allover amber glaze, except for the unglazed foot rim, with brown splashes to the exterior in imitation of tortoiseshell, height 4 1/4 in., presented on a carved wood stand.

  • Provenance: Provenance: Estate of Frederick Rank (1905-1986), Chicago and Miami interior designer; thence to current owner. Note: The exhibition Promises of Paradise: Staging Mid-Century Miami, (Bass Museum of Art, Miami, FL, (December 5, 2007 - April l 13, 2008) and Samuel P.
