E5000/7000 Note: Examples of antiquities discovered in various tombs in Egypt were replicated from Napoleon's time onward. Many pieces of furniture were produced from models acquired by the Cairo Museum. These appealed to very specialized collectors and were often purchased as souvenirs of their tour. The forms inspired important English designers, particularly Christopher Dresser Godwin, and designers who produced for Liberty & Co.
