An Antique 'Four Seasons' Cast Iron Garden Bench, late 19th Century Morgan, Macavlay and Wade, Yorkshire, the backrest composed of medallions depicting the labors of the seasons, flanked by lilies, over a wood seat, scrolled arms and legs, height 37.5 in., width 70 in , depth 31 in. E3000-5000 Note: Though this design was registered in England by the Coalbrookdale firm in 1870, it was also manufactured and retailed in the United States A nearly identical bench is illustrated in Barbara Israel, Antique Garden Ornament: Two Centuries of American Taste, p. 175, pl. 4.24.
