An Antique French Faïence Vase, mid-17th c., Nevers (Nièvre), in the "Bleu Persan" décor of opaque white painting on translucent cobalt ground, c. 1640, height 10 1/4 in., diameter 7 in. Note: An almost identical decoration on a Nevers bottle-vase of c. 1640 is illustrated in Boone Collection (Los Angeles, 1998), p. 34, color pl. 4.
