An Antique Kingwood Parquetry and Gilt Bronze-Mounted Cartonnier in the Directoire Style, c. 1910, stamped Charles Bernet, the molded rectangular top above a case of eight short drawers over six long, each with embossed leather fronts, numbered in Roman numerals with patinated gilt bronze pulls, mounts, and feet, on tapering toupie feet, height 43.25in., width 32.25in., depth 15.75in. Note: Each drawer is fitted with a mechanical silver lock mechanism at rear, connected to a lattice network on the back interior of the chest, which secretly locks all drawers from the top right side.
