An Antique Olive Green Blown Glass Demi-John, height 21.5in. , diameter 11.5in. E300-500 Provenance: Henry Morton Stanley House, Annunciation Street at Coliseum Square, New Orleans. Note: Born in Wales in 1841, Henry Morton Stanley came to New Orleans in 1859 and joined the Confederate Army after General Beauregard fired on Fort Sumpter. After the war, he began a career as a journalist and went to Africa in 1869 to locate the explorer Dr. David Livingstone.
