An Antique Papier-Mâché Minstrel Mask, late 19th c., probably Mardi Gras, possibly made in Paris, height 16 1/2 in.
Note: A c. 1870 newspaper illustration showing the interior of a New Orleans Carnival costume shop with similar masks is in the collection of the Louisiana State Museum.
