Beauregard, comprised of: A telegraph dispatch dated March 16 (1865), addressed to General Beauregard, sent by Archer Anderson, advising him of General Order No. 2, announcing that Beauregard is Second in Command of this army by order of General Johnston.; A telegraph dispatch dated Chester, March 28, 1865, addressed to General Beauregard, sent by Lieutenant General Stephen Dill Lee, advising him of division and brigade movements.; A wartime note to General Beauregard from General Milledge Luke Bonham (M.L. Bonham), dated Fairax Ch. (Fairfax Courthouse), July 17 (1861), noting "The Enemy are coming across Flint Hill plain in large force. I will retire as well as I can."; Manuscript notes, 20 pages, in an unknown hand, including a note on verso, probably in Beauregard's hand, describing the contents as, "Notes dictated in 1869 relating to events of the late War from the time I left New Orleans for West Point N.Y., in 1860 until I left Charleston for Manassas in 1861."; An ALS, 2 pages, from Leroy Pope Walker (L.P. Walker), the Confederate Secretary of War, dated from Montgomery, April 16, 1861, to General Beauregard, congratulating him on taking Sumter, and requesting guns be brought to Pensacola; A wartime note to Capt. E.P. Alexander, dated from Richmond, Jan., 20 (1862) from Wm. F. Alexander, declaring "Urge Genl. Beauregard to decline all proposals & solicitations. The blade of Joab "verbum sapienti."
