An Edwardian Mahogany "Carlton House" Desk, late 19th Century of kidney shaped outline and with satinwood stringing and inlaid borders the stepped superstructure fitted with a central series of four drawers flanked by small cabinet doors and with pull-out bins for letters and various articles of correspondence, each slope lid opening to a divided interior; the centered leather-lined writing surface above a concave frieze drawer sided by pairs of convex drawers, the square tapering legs ending in spade feet, height 41in. width 49in. depth 29in.
