An Edwardian Mahogany Hunt Table, late 19th/early 20th c., composed of three curved pedestal base tables, the two ends with tilt tops, the center with a brass gallery, arched saber legs ending in brass caps, casters, height 28 1/4 in., extended length 106 1/2 in., center table depth 26 1/4 in.

  • Notes: Note: A prototype design for a hunt table of this form is illustrated as a "Horse Shoe Dining Table" in John Sherer's 1788 Cabinetmaker's London Book of Prices, plate 16, figs 1-2. Persons dining at a table of this form were seated on the outer sections and served from the "hunt board" inner section. Reference: Fastenridge, Shearer Furniture Designs, p. 21.
