An English Molded Stoneware Jug in the Gothic Taste by William Ridgway, dated 1840, the yellow-beige body having an elaborate scene of knights jousting, in high relief, surrounded by medieval foliate ornament, impressed mark 'Published by W. Ridgway, Son & Co. Hanley. September 1st 1840', along with anchor mark, height 11 in., width 9 in. Note: one small chip on spout. Reference: See Geoffrey A.
