An Exceptionally Fine Pair of French Faïence Individual Wine-Rinsers (Rafraîchissoirs), c. 1730s, Moustiers, full underglaze sepia mark of Olerys and Laugier, whimsically decorated with figural and animal caricatures and grotesques in a pale yellow and green with aqua accents, heights 3 7/8 in., diameter 5 in. Reference: An exactly similar (though slightly heavier) pair of the same rinsers is dated c. 1740 in Boone Collection (Los Angeles, 1998), p. 54, color pl. 25.
