An Fine American Classical Mahogany Linen Press, c. 1825, Baltimore, the bold projecting cornice with a recessed arched frieze above Ionic carved tapered pilasters flanking paneled doors wing cabinets to the side; the interior fitted with sliding trays and drawers, the base with massive paw feet topped by Ionic capitals, height 85 in., width 82 in., depth 28 in E6500-8500 Note: The distinctive capitals, tapering pilasters, wing doors, and carved paw feet on lot 173 are nearly identical to those on a Baltimore mahogany gentleman's wardrobe was sold in these rooms as lot 616, December 5, 1992.
