An Imperial Russian Silver-Mounted Malachite Shelf Clock in the Empire Style, by Grachov Brothers (Moscow, c. 1885), the arched silver case containing a small white enamelled dial, crested by a laurel wreath above malachite columns with silver capitals and bases, the silver pierced facade decorated with white gryphons en face on a rectangular base with marks en verso, marked on back "Grachov" in cyrillic with Imperial Eagle Warrant, assayer's mark "A.P. 1885" and Russian standard silver mark "84", height 7.75in., width 4.125in., depth 3 in. E5000/7000 Note: Grachov was a firm of goldsmiths founded in St. Petersburg in 1866 by Gavril.
