An Important American Art Furniture Carved Mahogany Upholstered Chair c. 1880, attributed to Louis Comfort Tiffany/Associated Artists, New York, one stile topped with a carved frog figure, the other a bird, rectangular upholstered back, seatrail with nailhead decoration, square legs with lobed vegetal feet ending in glass spheres, h. 39. Note: The vegetal clove or modified hoof formed feet on lot 153 are identical to those on a settee and library table commissioned in 1881 from L. C. Tiffany and Associated Artists for the hall of the William S. Kimball (1837-1895) house, 145 Troup Street, Rochester, New York.
