An Important American Classical Birdseye Maple Dressing Chest, c. 1830, probably Baltimore, the architectonic form with pedimented mirror frame containing an oval mirror plate, obelisk supports mounted with candle brackets, the superstructure containing three drawers, the knobs with parquetry stars, the original white marble top over an ogee frieze drawer, square tapering columns flanking graduated drawers, concave plinth on blocked feet joined by brackets, original condition, height 93 in., width 44 in., depth 25 in. E4000- 6000 Note: The design of the pedimented mirror and obelisk stiles as well as the use of contrasting light and dark woods occurs in the work of several Baltimore and Philadelphia makers.
