An Important American Late Classical Mahogany Center Table, c. 1825, Philadelphia, attributed to the workshop of Anthony Gabrielle Quervelle, the circular hinged top bordered by gadrooning and above a narrow frieze, the urn-form stem displaying lotus leaves painted in verde antico and outlined in gilt bronze colors, resting on an engine- turned gilt bronze collar above a triangular concave plinth raised on verde antico and gilt bronze paw feet headed by scrolling leaves, height 27 in., diameter 42 in.
