c. 1790-1820, the molded hinged top lifting to a deep well, on tapering legs this height and size are usually associated with slabs or huntboards found in Piedmont Virginia and the Carolinas, in "as found" condition from South Carolina, this piece most likely doubled as a linen storage/serving board, some warping at the top back, height 38 1/2 in., width 38 1/2 in., depth 19 1/4 in.
