An Italian Walnut Bookcase and Cabinet in the Renaissance Taste, early 19th Century the plain pediment above a molded cornice, the frieze carved with minotaurs and other mythological beasts, the glazed doors flanked by pilasters decorated with figures raised upon pedestals of zoomorphic inspiration; lower case having deep relief carved doors fronted by putti holding aloft plaques inscribed in Latin, the feet formed as opposing lions, height 86in. width 42in. depth 16in.
