To Mr. Abner Barker, Pittsburgh, State of Pennsylvania with faint Nashville frank on integral address leaf (heavily browned). The future Hero of the Battle of New Orleans and seventh President of the United States writes concerning 819 acres of land owned jointly by Barker and Lydia and William Butler. Jackson writes as guardian of the Butlers and discusses interest to be charged and a draft having been returned. He also relates that he has provided power of attorney.
