  • Notes: Note: As a young boy, Edward Douglass White, Sr. moved to Louisiana with his father and began practicing law in that state after graduating from the University of Nashville in 1815 His successful law practice led to his election to the United States Congress for five terms and a term as Governor of Louisiana from 1835-1839
