Attributed to Augustus Rockwell (New York, 1822-1882), "Portrait of a Gentleman and his Wife", oil on canvas, unsigned, hand-written note en verso signed prior to relining: "A Rockwell, Pt. 1854". Along with 2 canvas stamps formerly visible, one from manufacturer: "G. Rowney and Co. London" and "Williams and Stevens 353 Broadway, N.Y." and label from framer en verso: "Godfrey's Court Store No. 49 Court St. Near Franklin", 29 3/4 in. x 25 in., in ornate giltwood frames.
