Attributed to Francesco Londonio (Italian, 1723-1783), "Shepherd with His Young Family and Flock", oil on canvas, unsigned, 13 1/2 in. x 10 1/4 in., in a later frame.
- Notes: Note: A student of the Late Baroque artist Ferdinando Porta (Italian, 1689-1767), Londonio was an engraver and painter who excelled at accurate and detailed renderings of farm animals, particularly sheep and goats. The present lot is similar in subject, style, and composition to an oil painting of a peasant family at the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg.
