A Fine American Classical Carved and Gilt Stenciled Mahogany Breakfast Table, early 19th c., drop-leaf top above a stenciled apron, each corner with beribboned lyre, tapered faceted support, circular plinth, acanthus carved legs ending in paw feet, casters Note: The juxtaposition of gilt decoration and carved paw feet on this table are very similar to those on examples attributed to Deming and Bulkley (New York, active 1820-1850, active Charleston c. 1840). The stencilled lyre decoration on the frieze blocks of this table is identical to that on a pier table attributed to Demming and Bulkley illustrated in Cynthia Moyer.
