E800/1200 Note: Charles "Buddy" Polchow grew up inNew Orleans and studied painting with Pat Trivigno. He was a contemporary of Ida Kohlmeyer. "Ida speaks of him as a quiet, retiring young man who was just a little bit finer and more thoughtful of others than the ordinary person." From the late 1950s until his death, Polchow exhibited at the 331 Gallery. Polchow's colorful half abstract-half realistic paintings were sought after by New Orleans collectors.
