Charles Moore (American/California, 1925-1993), "The Architect as Artist: Charles Moore / The 1984 Louisiana World Exposition / Official Fine Art Portfolio / The Wonder Wall", 1984, silkscreen poster, signed, inscribed "love to Sunny" and numbered "39/200 A.P." mid-right, sight 17 1/2 in. x 47 1/2 in., framed. Note: The 1984 Louisiana World Exposition held in New Orleans, Louisiana included post-modern architecture most notably the Wonderwall designed by noted architect Charles Willard Moore and his partner William Turnball. Designed with the function to hide overhead wiring and the cityscape. Inside the wall?s architectural features were multiple entertainment stages, storefronts, food vendors, passageways and fountains. After the fair closed, the wall structures were sold at public auction. Many of the walls decorative pieces can still be seen around the city in the backyards, on Bayou St. John, at the Louisiana Children?s Museum and along the Poydras Street corridor.
