In the summer months Reinike, and his artist wife Vera, ran the Reinike Academy of Art in St. Francisville, where many of their friends and fellow artists taught. Throughout his career as a teacher and artist, Reinike took painting trips, often with artist Clarence Millet and their students, to the countryside.
