China Trade, 19th c., "Beauty Reading a Love Letter", a Chinese reverse glass painting depicting an elegantly dressed and coiffured woman seated beside a table holding a handscroll in one hand and dangling a kerchief in the other, sight 19 1/2 in. x 13 1/2 in., in original hardwood frame with original wood backing. Provenance: Purchased in Asia during the 1920s, thence by descent to the current owner.
