A Chinese Parcel Gilt and Polychrome Decorated Bronze Figure of a High Daoist Official, early 19th c., the bearded official, possibly Tianguan, modeled with handsome chiseled features, standing upright on a rectangular plinth wearing long robes and a seven lobed cap, holding a hu tablet before his chest, height 13 3/4 in Provenance: With Benjamin Franklin March Jr. (1899-1934), Curator of Asiatic Art, Detroit Institute of Arts (1927-1931); thence by descent in his family.
