A Chinese Carved Hardwood Side Chair, late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), probably zitan, shaped openwork crest carved with birds and peonies supported on an upholstered quadrilobe backrest above a flaming pearl flanked by openwork dragons, wasited seat with bone spindles above the carved aprove and serpentine legs terminating in incurvate scroll toes, casters, height 37 3/4 in Provenance: Estate of Lee B. Anderson (1918-2010), New York, NY; acording to a note attached to the bottom of the seat, the above lot acquired from the DuPont Family, Winterthur, DE, who acquired it from an "Indian Palace".
