A Chinese Carved Soapstone Brush Pot, Bitong, probably 19th/20th c., slightly waisted cylindrical body carved around the sides with a continuous mountainous landscape enclosing a figure fishing beside a lake with two smaller figures waving from a pavilion in the distance, two scholarly figures and a small dog crossing a bridge and a scholar and a boy pointing toward geese in the sky above, base with 'Jing wei tang zhi' (Hall of Respectful Awe) mark, height 4 5/8 in., diameter 3 7/8 in Provenance: Aixinjueluo Collection.
