A Rare and Monumental Chinese Painted Pottery Figural Group of a Bactrian Camel, Tang Dynasty (618-907), animated figure superbly modeled partially kneeling with backturned snarling head, body set with removable saddle and fur blanket and surmounted by the figure of a Sogdian merchant embracing a monkey beside another monkey climbing the blanket, height 29 in., length 27 in.; accompanied by an Oxford Authentication TL Report. Note: The dating of this lot is consistent with the result of Oxford Authentication Ltd. thermoluminesence test no. C108a94.
