A Chinese Polychrome and Gilt Decorated Black Lacquer Stool, Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), probably 17th/18th c., scroll top above a shaped apron supported on a pair of deep S-curved legs terminating in incurvate scroll feet, the top panel decorated with a pair ofsinuous dragons contesting a flaming pearl amid diaphanous cloud scrolls above a jagged rock outcropping, height 14 in., width 20 in., depth 10 3/4 in. Provenance: Indicated with Prince Aixinjueluo Pujun (1885-1942), son of Prince Duan Aixinjueluo Zaiyi, and briefly heir to the Tongzhi throne; thence by descent in the Aixinjueluo Family.
