Chinese School, 19th c., a pair of ancestor portraits, one depicting a male dignitary wearing blue robes bearing a phoenix rank badge in which the bird faces west towards the setting sun; the second, presumably his wife, also wearing a phoenix rank badge in which the bird faces east towards the rising sun, ink and colors on paper with gilt highlights, sight 30 in. x 15 1/2 in., each matted and framed.
