An Antique Chinese Soapstone Seal, rectangular form with sloping rounded head, finely relief carved to one side with a scene of Liu Hai, the Daoist god of wealth and prosperity, playfully dangling a string of cash before Chan Chu, the three legged toad, the figures cleverly carved utilizing the natural yellow of the stone, uncarved chop, height 3 1/2 in Provenance: With Benjamin Franklin March Jr. (1899-1934), Curator of Asiatic Arts, Detroit Institute of Arts (1927-1931); thence by descent in his family.
