[CIVIL WAR/SHILOH/EYE WITNESS ACCOUNT A.L.S. on partially printed stationery. Printed UNION and with the union flag flying from the top of the globe. A four page letter written shortly after the battle. Signed by Thos C. Edwards (18th Illinois Regiment), it reads in part, "our men driving the Rebels back and taking their Batteries from them at the Point of Bayonet, they fought us until about 4 o'clock Monday Evening when the Rebels give up that they were whipped and skedadled back to their fortifications at Corinth". Sold together with another 3 page letter.
